Stan Sax Studio Works / Saxophone Song Development

Our very own Stan Sax has been in studio this week for quite a few hours where questioning how a modern instrumental saxophone song could sound like. How to balance up-to-date sounds and trendy beats with jazz-ish melodies. And also very important: Who would be the audience to target?
Is it the hip and young electronic music community or rather ‘traditional’ audience for instrumental music?
Who ever this is. Well guys we are, yesss!stans ax saxophone song development

Well, let’s talk about music! Stan’s little jam starts off with a slow but heavy urbanĀ beat and super chill, almost retro organ/rhodes sound. His ‘drums’ as usually are played and produced on NI’s Maschine. The keys on a way too tiny controller but hey, we all know you don’t need heavy equipment nowadays. The Saxophone comes with a quite catchy melody which could meant to be the chorus. Way more interesting however is the (unfortunately) little short solo part covering a wide range of musical expression. From very soft sounds all the range up to even distorted notes.
