Kygo Saxophone Cover: SAXITY ‘It Ain’t Me’

Before dipping into the theme and leaving a couple words about this new Kygo Saxophone cover let me express something:
You know how much I’d love to feature more tracks and have more blog posts on Saxobelle?
I hope you guys will soon start to send me your own saxophone works to write about to make this blog grow with beautiful content. So don’t hesitate to reach out at: saxobelle@gmail.com
I’ll be more than happy to hear your talents!

Let’s go back to the topic. End of last week, tropical house genius Kygo released his latest work with with Selena Gomez. (Bieber’s Ex, the girl who can’t keep her hands to herself, currently with The Weeknd? Not that anybody cares but hey I’m well briefed, am I?)

Kygo SaxophoneOnce such huge release comes up it’s clear a lot interesting work gets created around that piece of music. This time it’s Germany’s duo Saxity coming up with the first Kygo saxophone cover. However this is not an entire saxophone song. It rather is a housy re-make starting with a quite chill Intro and beautiful vocals by Victor Perry. But once the drop kicks in we’re all on that sax! The rough tone and sharp phrasing pushes the pumping production up on another level of danceableness. We won’t hear many notes or quick solo fills in this Kygo saxophone cover but just the right amount of real instruments to merge well into the trendy electronic music scene.

Give it a listen and judge yourself. No, don’t judge. Better grab your dancing shoes and hit the floor hard. This is mad!

Saxophone Cover: The Chainsmokers – Paris (by Dave Bo)

Dave Bo, one of YouTube’s most clicked young sax players just came up with another dope saxophone cover. His smooth and full sound makes The Chainsmoker’s new single “Paris” a truly romantic piece of music.

As typical for pop music also Paris’ melody songwriting is driven by many repetitions.
However Dave takes care to not making it sound boring (without lyrics) by  sprinkling it with clever, little improvised fills. Towards the end of the saxophone cover improvised parts taking over and the track peaks in a short saxophone solo. And again Dave scores with this classic, clean and smooth sound.
Not least its always great to see someone actually play the music – we all love this kind of studio performance videos.
And the LED-ish effect on Dave Bo’s saxophone looks pretty coEffect Saxophone Coverol.
Way better than usual LED bars on the horn and
rather like a visual lightning effekt.

Quick note: We should write up an article about different visual effects on the sax for saxobelle in near future.
Now have fun with this brand new cover and let’s hear some sax 🙂
